Ayurveda places great importance on daily routine (dinacharya). Small habits, practised consistently, support the heart and the mind together.
1. Wake with the sun
A regular wake-up time steadies the body clock, improves digestion and helps sleep at night.
2. Eat your main meal at midday
Digestive fire (agni) is strongest around noon. A warm, freshly cooked lunch with less salt and fried food is kinder to the heart.
3. Move every day
A gentle walk, yoga or stretching — chosen with your doctor’s advice — keeps circulation healthy.
4. Breathe slowly
Ten minutes of slow breathing or pranayama calms the nervous system and reduces stress.
5. Protect your sleep
Dinner two to three hours before bed and a screen-free last hour help the body rest and repair.
If you have a heart condition, discuss any change in diet or exercise with your cardiologist first.
